Unfortunately, most people will go into the shopping process blind and they will not realize the can save money but checking out the competition. The advancements of smartphones will help when it comes to price comparison. In fact, more and more people are shopping while using their smartphones. Google Maps has worked hard to index and map out shopping malls on Google Maps. You might want to try this out the next time you take a trip to the local mall.
As I stated earlier, Presidents Day will come shortly after Valentine’s Day so it does not hurt to look at some of the pre Presidents Day sales events that will be going on at retail locations. This opportunities should not be hard to find as most retailers should be working hard to get your business. If they are not willing to reach out and illustrate their low prices it would be smart to bring business elsewhere. The advancements of Google Maps have helped tremendously when it comes to finding local retailers.
Buying Before or After Presidents Day 2013
All of this being said, now might be the time to get on Google+ to look for some of the most popular sales and deals. In fact, I have updated a few posts with some very valuable information. Feel free to comment on some of these posts if you are looking for sales and deals on specific items. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to update every single item that will be on sale but I will do my best to illustrate some of the opportunities to save during Presidents Day weekend in 2013.
Most people are still very new to Google+ but it has already grown into the second largest social network in the world; only behind Facebook. It is hard to believe that Google+ is now ahead of Twitter when it comes to active users. This simply means that more people can gain access to valuable information on Google+. Another great feature of Google+ is the fact that all posts are indexed in search. This is something that cannot be said of other social networks. The weird coding issues and the privacy concerns make it very difficult for Google to crawl and index every post or update on Facebook or Twitter.
It will be interesting to see how much this advances over the next several weeks and several months. By the time we get to Black Friday 2013 it may be the case that people do all of their research on Google+. Having the ability to update posts and reach out to a new audience makes it very easy for experts or those in the field to get the message out. There are also Google+ hangouts that allow these experts to talk one on one with anyone who may be interested. To make this even better, these hangouts have the capability to hold up to nine different people in one video conference.
Something that may be quite popular at this point in social media is to ask experts in places like Google+ and Reddit. I think in the past some people might have asked on Facebook but was anyone truly an expert on there? On Google+ there are actual Android employees and testers that can answer any question you may have. This is very different than in years past when users would have to jump through hoops to get a response on Twitter or Facebook. Most people on Reddit and Google+ will be more than happy to help with an honest review of a product.
Some may be looking for laptops or desktop computers during the Presidents Day sales weekend. This is an industry that sees very quick turnover. A laptop you bought two months ago for $500 might only cost $300 today. Looking at some of the older model Samsung, Sony, Dell and HP laptops might be a very wise decision. Take advantage of review websites like and CNet before making a final purchase decision. Most tech websites will offer honest reviews at no cost these days. Some personal blogs might be useful as well.
Once again, this is something that is going to come up over and over. Most people are going to want an affordable iPhone, Android phone or tablet. Rather than purchasing the Nexus 10 at full price it might be smart to look at some of the older model Android tablets that are out there. The same goes for the iPad. Instead of purchasing the iPad Mini or the iPad 3 it might be worth it to check out the original iPad or the iPad 2. When it comes to Apple products most stores will have mark downs on the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s. Remember that these phones are not the latest and greatest but they are still amazing pieces of technology.
Some people will look for the iPad 3 and iPad mini on sale while others are hoping to snag an iPhone 5. Even though interest in Apple products has declined since the holiday shopping season it is still the case that Apple does not offer a ton of sales and deals. It seems to be a little bit easier to find mark downs on Android products. WIth Blackberry struggling it might be worth it to look at some of these gadget devices as well. Don’t expect the new Blackberry 10 to be marked down though as it just came out recently.
This resource is being created at the end of January 2013 just to make certain I can get as much great content in it as possible. This means the sales have yet to be released. As soon as the markdowns are noted by WalMart I will update this section of the resource. As I have stated before, Presidents Day sales often consist of furniture, appliances, HD TVs, laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets. There will be some markdowns on grocery items and clothes but these don’t seem to be as popular during the Presidents Day sales events. Coupons and other discount codes will be available and I will “attempt” to provide some valuable links.

Using to find some of the local furniture, car and appliance retailers might be a good idea. Some of these smaller mom and pop retailers may open up their sales events the entire week of Presidents Day. With Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day being almost the same week it would not surprise me at all to see some stores trying to mesh these two sales holidays. It would make perfect sense as men and women could take advantage of the lower prices for an entire week.
There are a few retailers like Best Buy and Target that split the holiday weekend into two sales events but this can be very difficult on the staff. Having to set an entirely different sales ad on Saturday night can be a monumental task. This is why most retailers like Sears, and Sam’s Club will have a three day or four day holiday sales weekend. Some may think that only furniture stores and car dealerships have sales on Presidents Day weekend but this is not the case. Almost every single retailer in America will be offering some type of special discount on popular items.
Per the usual, will be the third Monday in the month of February which means it comes right after Valentine’s Day. While men will be picking out the best Valentine’s Day gifts for their ladies it will likely be the case that they are also looking at some of the tech gadgets that will be available during Presidents Day weekend. With Presidents Day coming on Monday, February 18th, 2013 it will be true that most retailers start sales on the Friday or Saturday before.
When Do Presidents Day Sales Start?
In the next two weeks many people will save up money for the first major sales event of the year. Tens of thousands of shoppers will look for WalMart Presidents Day sales and deals in 2013 as they know there will be some very attractive markdown offers. In fact, WalMart often has the lowest prices on technology items such as HD TVs, laptops and smartphones. That said, remember that the higher quality items are going to be a little more expensive even at this discount retailer. Also note that other stores are going to have very attractive .
